About the Veneno
The Veneno is a limited-run hypercar made by Lamborghini in 2013 and 2014 made to mark Lamborghini’s 50th anniversary.
It is one of the most expensive and exclusive ever; Veneno buyers paid approximately $4 million. Only 4 coupés and 9 spyders were ever produced, with one coupé reserved for the Lamborghini museum.
The Veneno was made to look as fast as a fighter jet and had the performance to back it up. It was powered by Lamborghini’s 6.5L V12, which made 740 hp, and had a dry weight of only 3,197 lb (1,450 kg). It went 0-60 mph in 2.9 seconds, and Lamborghini claimed it could reach 221 mph (355 km/h).
As Lamborghini’s second limited-run hypercar (the Reventon being the first), the Veneno was a significant leap forward in technology and performance. It was the first limited-run Lamborghini to utilize a lightweight carbon fiber monocoque construction, a technology brought over from the Aventador. The Veneno was the first in a series of limited-run hypercars based on the Aventador platform, which included the Cenenario, Sián, Countach LPI-800-4, and others.
