About the 350 GT
Ferruccio Lamborghini was a customer of Enzo Ferrari, but Lamborghini was unhappy with the experience of a Ferrari because it was a compromised streetcar built almost solely for the track. Lamborghini demanded Ferrari build him a true grand touring car but Ferrari refused, in a famous shouting match between the two Italian men.
Lamborghini had the designers and engineers at his tractor company start working on a grand touring sports car. The first Lamborghini was the 350 GTV, a prototype that became the 350 GT with a few tweaks.
The 400 GT was an improvement to the 350 GT featuring a larger V12.
