The first mid-engine supercar in the world
About the Miura
The Lamborghini Miura was the first sports car that featured a mid-engine powertrain layout.
The body was designed by Marcello Gandini on contract from Bertone. It is often cited as the most beautiful car design in history.
The Miura was the first commercially successful car Lamborghini. The success of the Miura forced the transition to two-sear supercars from the four-seater grant touring (GT) cars that Ferrucio Lamborghini imagined for the company.
Unfortunately, the Lamborghini Muira gained a reputation for killing it’s customers. The rear weight bias of the mid-engine layout gave the Miura a tendency to oversteer.
